​Deep sea fishing - Zipolite

 

Mexico's Pacific coast is excellent for offshore fishing. Pretty much everything that has a reputation as big game fish is represented. Marlin, swordfish and dorado (mahi-mahi) are caught year-round. Yellowfin tuna and albacore (white tuna) have become rarer in recent years, but like barracuda and wahoo, are always present temporarily.

Near the shore various species of jacks up to 20 kg, sierra (sawfish), dogtooth tuna and barilete (a smaller species of tuna) are present all year round. However, there are numerous other types.

Catch and release is welcome but not required. Caught fish can be deliciously prepared in a good restaurant in the evening if desired.

Even non -fishermen will get an insight into the breathtaking event in and on the water during this tour.

 

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee to catch. From experience however,  we can state this as 90%.  Everything depends on current and water temperature. Both can remain constant for a few days or change within a few hours. Accordingly, the species occurrence changes quickly.

Duration:   Usually 3 hours are sufficient. If you still  don´t have enough, we will of course stay longer. In order to see the sunrise on the ocean, we should start about 6 am. If that's too early, we will simply start later.

 

What to bring:  towel - hat - sunscreen - seasickness pill (if needed)

 

 

Price from Puerto Angel (Playa Panteon):

Boat with captain:   1.000 Pesos per hour

The price can be divided by up to 5 persons. Fishing can be done by max. 3 persons at the same time

The price for transportation from Zipolite to Puerto Angel and back is about 200 Pesos and can be shared by up to 4 people
