Laguna Ventanilla

This freshwater lagoon was almost completely destroyed by Hurricane Paulina in 1997. As a result, the villagers founded an Ecoproject to restore it. Among other things, a reforestation plant and a breeding station for crocodiles were created.

A large part of the entrance fee goes to these project. Since then, the lagoon has been recovering year after year and is now home to unique fauna and flora. Many rare and endangered species have their home here.

You can choose between 2 different tours.

  • Tour 1 is purely naturalistic, but should be done early in the morning, as the animals are then still undisturbed. You will feed wild iguanas and discover and experience much more.

  • Tour 2 leads, among other things to an island in the lagoon. There are enclosures with many animal lagoon dwellers, a breeding station for crocodiles, a restaurant and many additional interesting things.

Both boat trips last about 2 hours each. You can book them directly with the providers on site. The price is 200 Pesos per tour.

If you want to do the tour with an interpreter (English and German) we will organize it for you.
